The woodsman’s are really great shooters, there are some I believe after 1933 are able to handle high velocity ammunition. This has the checkered oval but due to it being a 1924, I would assume you would still run standard velocity. That is if you were to fire this one.

FYI… I did see a thread on the Colt Forum this morning mentioning the barrel in this pistol was used in pistols from an earlier serial number range. I’ve heard the phrase that Colt never threw anything away, any chance this might have been a leftover barrel from WWI?
