Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Bidder Questions:
How can I register to bid?

How do firearm transfers work?
  • Transfer of firearms ownership requires an FFL holder. Buyers should either have an FFL or use a local FFL holder in their area to receive and manage the transfer of the item for them before they place a bid or purchase an item. Typically, buyers need to make arrangements in advance with the FFL.

  • Accessories such as: holsters, clips, sights, scopes, etc., often are not required to ship to a FFL. Non-firearm items such as: air guns, knives, ammunition, antique guns built before 1899, and some gun parts also do not require transfer by a licensed dealer but may require proof of age before shipping.

  • Please review the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) FAQ about transferring ownership of firearms by unlicensed persons: Visit ATF Unlicensed Persons

Will I need to pass a background check?
  • Anyone purchasing a firearm must be able to pass a background check. See the ATF Q&A for more information.

Can I cancel a bid after it’s been placed?
  • No, we do not cancel or retract bids. Be sure to read the auction listing carefully and know what you are bidding on.

How does shipping work?

Can I bid if I am not in the US?
