This Colt Gold Cup National Match MK IV Series 80 is chambered in .45 ACP and is finished in blue. Offered with two magazines, additional recoil spring, Colt branded barrel bushing tool, hex key, and other factory related pamphlets in the serial number matched blue Colt hard clamshell case.
This Gold Cup was manufactured in 2013, and although a more modern production this pistol shows little indication of use. Boasting sharp strong edges, and no noticeable detractions. A deep blue finish can be seen throughout the slide and frame, while the top and surrounding matte finish show a smooth satin, without any noticeable marks.
The markings on the left of the slide are “SERIES ’80 COLT MK IV” above “GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH” the rampant colt sits the right. The trigger guard bow shows a triangular “VP” cartouche and an “L” directly below. The rear sight wears the “Colt” hallmark. The right side of the slide “GOLD CUP” above “NATIONAL MATCH” leading to a Trophy Cup. The right side of the frame just above the grip “COLT’S PT F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A” and the serial number just behind the slide stop pin “FN102022”
Other markings noted are the barrel hood “-COLT 45 AUTO N.M. -”, a rampant colt on the top face of the rear sight. The magazines wear the rampant colt on at the front of the floorplate followed by “COLT 45 AUTO” a “C” sits in the corner of each floorplate. One of the magazines is marked as an “8-RD” referring to the ability to hold up to 8 rounds rather than 7.
The front sight is set by dovetail into the front of the slide. The rear sight is a Colt branded, Bo-mar style sight that is adjustable.
The grips are a checkered wraparound style in a black rubber with a silver Colt medallion in the center on each side. The grips show no wear, rips, or tears.
Overall, This would be the perfect addition for Colt collectors looking for a Modern take on a classic. Or for those looking for an excellent target type 1911.
