This World War II Ithaca M1911A1 U.S. Army Issue, dates as 1945 production and is one of the last of 41,305 units manufactured by Ithaca Gun Co. Of New York. Ithaca along with Union Switch & Signal, Remington Rand and Colt, all carried the banner of M1911A1 production through World War II. This Remington Rand M1911A1 Ogden Arsenal Rebuild, dates as 1945 manufactured Semi-Automatic Pistol. Arsenal Rebuild pistols were taken in, inspected and rebuilt with replacement parts needed to bring them up to operational standards. The Ogden Arsenal was built in 1921 and began storing munitions from World War I that same year. This Remington Rand rebuilds most notable feature is that it wears an Ithaca Gun Company slide.
