This WWII US 1942 Dated BOYT Leather Holster, a M1916 model hostler produced by BOYT Holster Company of Iowa. BOYT was one of a few Holster Manufactures that produced M1911 holsters for both World Wars.
This Holster is in excellent condition, shows a nice worn in natural finish and trace amounts of verdigris forming on around the brass rivets.
Embossed on the front is the standard US cartouche, which was the standard marking on M1916 Holsters. On the back near the belt loops “BOYT 42” can be clearly read. The internal pistol bolster is still intact.
WWII models used a painted steel belt hook, rather than brass used on those issued for WWI.
