1988 Colt Custom Shop Single Action Army Nickel Factory Engraved .45 LC No Reserve

This 1988 Colt Custom Shop Single Action Army is chambered in .45 Long Colt, finished in Nickel and wears smooth ivory grips. Produced by Colt’s Custom Shop in a limited run of 100, this revolver features factory “American Style Scroll” engravings on the frame and the barrel. The barrel is 4 ¾ inches with a fixed quarter round blade front sight. Offered with the serial number matched box and all the factory paperwork just as it would have left the factory.

The Nickel finish on this Colt Single action revolver is bright and shows off like a mirror. The finish shows no visible handling marks. The engraving on both the barrel and frame shows sharp and crisp. All roll marks are legible. The smooth ivory grips are bright ivory and mimic the condition of the nickel finish, without any visible handling marks.

The markings on this Colt custom shop single action are as follows: Left side of the barrel reads “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45” behind the ornate barrel engravings. The frame under the cylinder reads “PAT. SEPT. 19 1871” over “JULY 2, 72 JAN. 19, 75” in front of the rampant colt.
 

The serial number is marked on the frame in front of the trigger guard “SA92986”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” and right side shows no marks except for the engraving.

The frames engraved floral scrolls gracefully wrap around the frame screws in front of the ivory grips. 

Each ivory grip encases a silver flush type colt medallion, and throughout each panel no visible marks to note. The hammer spur shows sharp knurling, and a mirror like finish.
